The Palace of Dreams
I did not know it snowed up high,
Amongst the Palace of Dreams.
A place often praised with a sigh,
Where honest men are dying to reach.
A shivering girl dreams and dreams,
That one day she may be,
As wise and rich as Glory deems,
And dwell in the Palace of Dreams.
When she did find the Palace of Dreams,
She cried out a hearty cheer!
Yet unnoticed goes the path she travelled,
One tainted by blood and tear.
A snowflake landed on her face,
As her tears crystallized.
She is alone in a land,
Where only lights can hide.
